Because our apps are designed to make writers feel right at home-like your favourite bookstore or coffee shop. While our headquarters are in Cornwall, UK, our small team spans the globe. ![]() It's helped turn napkins into novels, thoughts into theses and scribbles into screenplays. But even more than that, using artificial intelligence in a tool called Devonthink, I can find links between concepts that were not initially apparent to me. Literature & Latte was founded in 2006 to answer such questions, and our award-winning software is now used by thousands of writers the world over. What if moving index cards on a corkboard changed the structure of your manuscript? What if you could move notes around on an infinite sheet of paper? Everything we do is born of a passion for bringing together processes familiar to writers in new and exciting ways. We are Literature & Latte, a software company founded by writers for writers. Scapple has 8.4 points for overall quality and 95 rating for user satisfaction while FreeMind has 9.9 points for overall quality and 100 for user satisfaction. Any computers owned by immediate family members living in your household You can check the specifics, such as available tools, costs, plans offered by each vendor, offer terms, and more We also let you check their total scores to know which one seems to be better.(If I didnt hate the word 'brainstorming' so much, Id probably call it brainstorming software. Any computers that you are the primary user or owner of Scapple is the software equivalent of how I work out my rough ideas on paper.Unlimited number of installations included for:.However, there are a lot more mind mapping apps just like Scapple. I hope you get a chance to check it out and see what you think. I love that aspect and use my general board every day. It’s also a great way to organize all your lists, instead of having Post-It Notes (real or virtual) stuck all over the place. I have covered Scapple in one of my articles and my review was a positive one (well, I’m still positive about it). The thing I like best about Scapple is it isn’t just a writing or brainstorming tool, Jill. Redemption: must redeem within 30 days of purchase Scapple is a powerful and easy-to-use mind mapping tool with an intuitive design.Scapple 1.4.2 prepares the app for macOS Ventura while making several enhancements and bug fixes along the way. Unlike many of the other tools on the market, Scapple is a piece of downloadable software, rather than a web app. It’s essentially a mind mapping software rather than a dedicated plotting tool, so definitely won’t be for everyone. Although I’m currently writing a full manual for it, the QuickStart Guide a little further down should contain everything you need to dig in and get using Scapple. Scapple is Literature & Latte’s entry into the world of plotting tools. Most importantly, because its purpose is to allow you to get ideas down and make connections between them quickly, Scapple is dead simple to use. Creating and removing connections is as easy as dragging one note onto another. Instead, you are free to write anywhere on the virtual paper and individual notes can be a short or as long as you like. Where Scapple is slightly different from most is that it doesn’t force you to make any connections, and it doesn’t expect you to start out with one central idea and branch everything else off that. I’m well aware that there’s already a plethora of mind-mapping software out there. ![]() The main advantage of doing this in Scapple instead of on paper is that you don’t run out of paper (the Scapple canvas expands to fit as many notes as you want to create), you can move notes around to make room for new ideas and connections, it’s easy to delete and edit notes, and it’s easy to export your notes into other applications when you know what you want to do with them. ![]() ![]() In short, then, Scapple is a tool for getting early ideas down as quickly as possible and making connections between them. (If I didn’t hate the word “brainstorming” so much, I’d probably call it brainstorming software.) When I’m in the early stages of any project, whether that’s a writing project or a software project, I tend to throw a bunch of ideas down on a big piece of paper, spacing out as-yet unrelated ideas, clustering related notes, and drawing connections between them, trying to work out how everything fits together. Scapple is the software equivalent of how I work out my rough ideas on paper. ![]()
